Nippon Paint's (TYO:4612) profit attributable to owners of the parent rose 24% to 105.2 billion yen for the first half from 84.5 billion yen a year earlier.
The paint maker's earnings per share increased to 45.30 yen from 35.98 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Friday.
Revenue climbed 20% to 1.024 trillion yen for the six months ended June 30 from 852.4 billion yen.
The company raised its revenue forecast to 2 trillion yen, from its previous projection of 1.92 trillion yen. However, it lowered its forecast for profit attributable to owners of the parent to 189 billion yen from 198 billion yen.
The company plans to pay an interim dividend of 8 yen per share and a year-end dividend of 9 yen per share, totaling 17 yen for the fiscal year.
