Nippon Paint's Profit Jumps 44% in Q1
Nippon Paint's (TYO:4612) profit attributable to owners of the parent jumped 44% to 51.52 billion yen for the first quarter from 35.70 billion yen a year earlier.The chemical manufacturer's earnings per share increased to 22.18 yen from 15.20 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Friday.Revenue climbed 21% to 490.28 billion yen for the three months ended March 31 from 405.72 billion yen in the prior year.For the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, the company expects attributable profit of 198.00 billion yen, EPS of 85.34 yen, and revenue of 1.920 trillion yen.Nippon Paint plans to pay interim and year-end dividends of 8.00 yen and 9 yen per share, respectively, for the year.
