New Zealand Transport Motor Vehicle Registrations Fall in July

The number of transport motor vehicle registrations in New Zealand in July licensed for 12 months fell to 3.8 million from 3.9 million in the same period last year, according to figures released by Stats NZ on Monday.

Currently licensed transport and passenger motor vehicles across the country includes almost 2.3 million cars; 631,221 trucks; 606,013 trailers and caravans; 32,965 motorcycles; 26,557 omnibuses and service coaches; as well as 13,230 taxis.

Meanwhile, the total number of commercial vehicles in July was 3,350, down compared with last year's 4,379.
