New Zealand's total new lending declined to NZ$15.05 billion in July from NZ$16.14 billion in June, according to data from the Reserve Bank of New Zealand released on Friday.
The total new lending was NZ$17.66 billion in July 2025.
New lending fully secured by residential mortgage fell to NZ$8.27 billion in July from NZ$8.32 billion in the previous month.
Personal consumer new lending inched down to NZ$235 million from NZ$236 million. New lending for business rose to NZ$4.44 billion from NZ$3.87 billion.
Lending for agricultural purposes plunged to NZ$1.5 billion from NZ$3.15 billion. Other new lending increased to NZ$612 million from NZ$570 million.
