New energy vehicles comprised a record 60.6% of China's new car market in August, supported by upgraded trade-in subsidy policies, state media Xinhua News reported Thursday.
Data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers showed new energy vehicle output and sales both rose nearly 20% year over year to 1.65 million and 1.64 million units, respectively.
Total auto output and sales were 2.68 million and 2.71 million units, respectively.
