Neotech Metals (NTMC.CN) on Monday said it started a metallurgical process development program with Dorfner ANZAPLAN GmbH, which will help develop a preliminary processing flowsheet for its Hecla-Kilmer rare-earth project in Ontario.
The company expects a final report after the completion of the program, which will include information on recoveries, concentrate grades, reagent consumption, and recommendations for next steps, added Neotech.
"Our previous metallurgical work demonstrated that the apatite-hosted mineralization at Hecla-Kilmer responds well to conventional leaching under relatively mild conditions," said Chief Executive Officer Reagan Glazier. "Our objective with ANZAPLAN is to leverage those characteristics to develop a simple, conventional processing flowsheet capable of producing a high-purity rare earth product while evaluating additional value streams from niobium, gallium, and purified phosphoric acid."
Shares of the company were last seen down C$0.01, or 3.7%, to C$0.26 on the Canadian Securities Exchange.
