Nanalysis Scientific (NSCI.V), down 17% on last look, Monday said that second-quarter loss narrowed to C$0.7 million from C$2.1 million, in the prior-year period.
The reduced loss reflects improved business margins, and lower expenses, the scientific-equipment company said. Nanalysis did not provide per share amounts.
Revenue edged up 1.5% to C$9.7 million, over the same period.
"We are encouraged by the continued improvement in our operating performance during the second quarter" said Chief Executive Sean Krakiwsky. "Security Services continued to demonstrate improved margins and operating performance, while Scientific Equipment showed meaningful improvement from the first quarter, supported by manufacturing efficiencies and improved distributor sales. "
