Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged Australian investors to deepen ties with the Asian nation, as India's rapid economic growth, policy reforms and digital transformation are creating significant opportunities for them, according to an official statement.
Modi and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese jointly addressed the Australia-India CEOs Forum and the Economic Roadmap Business event in Melbourne on Thursday.
Modi identified manufacturing, clean energy, critical minerals, mining, infrastructure, artificial intelligence, fintech and the digital economy as key areas for collaboration.
India's scale and Australian expertise make for a win-win proposition, he said, inviting Australian investors to take advantage of opportunities for long-term investment in the country.
Modi also asked the business leaders to leverage complementary strengths on both sides and create global solutions, especially in the fields of rare earths, lithium, batteries, electronics, EVs, semiconductors, AI and defence supply chains.
