Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group's (TYO:8306) profit attributable to owners of the parent jumped 48.2% to 809.4 billion yen for the fiscal first quarter, from 546.1 billion yen a year earlier.
The bank's earnings per share climbed to 71.59 yen from 47.45 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Monday.
Ordinary income for the three months ended June 30 increased 20.1% to 3.908 trillion yen from 3.254 trillion yen in the year-ago period.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, Mitsubishi UFJ expects an attributable profit of 2.700 trillion yen.
It plans to pay interim and final dividends of 35 yen per share each for the year.
