Reliance Industries will construct a 168-megawatt AI data center in Jamnagar for Meta (META) to power its regional hyper-intelligence models, Meta said on Tuesday.
To support its localized computational requirements and offset value chain emissions, Meta has separately contracted nearly 1 gigawatt of new green energy capacity through long-term power purchase agreements with two of India's leading independent power producers, the company said.
The tech giant has partnered with CleanMax to develop 837 MW of new co-located solar and wind projects across Rajasthan and Karnataka, expanding its total cumulative portfolio with the developer to over 900 MW.
Additionally, Meta has signed with Fourth Partner Energy to back 88 MW of distributed solar and wind installations across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh.
