MediPharm Labs (LABS.TO) on Tuesday reported positive results from a Phase II trial evaluating the company's oral cannabinoid formulation for the treatment of agitation in patients with advanced dementia.
The LiBBY (Life's End Benefits of Cannabidiol and Tetrahydrocannabinol) trial met its primary endpoint and showed statistically significant improvements in agitation symptoms compared with placebo. Benefits were seen as early as two weeks and sustained throughout the 12-week treatment period, a statement added.
The findings were reported for the first time at the Alzheimer's Association International Conference (AAIC) 2026 in London, UK.
MediPharm is reviewing the full study results and evaluating potential next steps.
