MDA Space (MDA.TO, MDA) launched MDA Aurora Black, an extension of its MDA Aurora software-defined satellite product line, it said Thursday.
The company said MDA Aurora Black will provide protection and resilience against cyber, physical and other evolving threats.
MDA Aurora Black includes features like secure end-to-end connection, onboard anti-jamming capabilities, resistance to GPS spoofing, and perimeter and proximity sensing, added the company.
"MDA AURORA BLACK is designed to bring the agility of our software-defined satellite product into the defence domain, helping countries maintain tactical and strategic communications that are essential to data-centric operations," said Chief Executive Officer Mike Greenley. "High-volume production will ensure defence departments globally can achieve near term, secure, sovereign military satellite communications."
U.S.-listed shares of the company were last seen down 1.4% to $28.40 in pre-market trading.
