Walmart (WMT) settled a US government lawsuit alleging its pharmacies unlawfully dispensed opioids and other controlled substances, Reuters reported Friday, citing a Justice Department statement.
The department said the settlement resolves allegations that Walmart pharmacies failed to comply with their obligations under the Controlled Substances Act, according to the report.
Terms of the settlement were not immediately available, Reuters said.
Walmart said it was pleased to resolve the matter and would continue supporting its pharmacists in providing patient care, according to the report.
Walmart did not immediately respond to' request for comment.
