Vail Resorts (MTN) is working with takeover-defense bankers to help the company assess potential risks from labor, a prominent billionaire, and other external pressures, Semafor said Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.
No activist investor has made a move on Vail, though the company appears to be preparing for that possibility after bringing back Rob Katz as CEO in May 2025 and removing his hand-picked successor, the report said.
Cloudflare (NET) billionaire Matthew Prince has urged Vail to sell him Park City Mountain Resort since last spring, and he reportedly said he received calls from activist investors about Vail, Semafor said.
