TotalEnergies (TTE) is facing a dispute with Mozambique over about $2 billion in costs tied to delays at its liquefied natural gas project in the country, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing an unnamed person familiar with the matter.
The disagreement follows an audit that was unable to verify part of the expenses claimed by TotalEnergies and its partners because supporting documentation was lacking, the report said.
According to the report, agreement on the disputed costs is required before Mozambique can approve a revised development plan for the LNG project.
TotalEnergies did not immediately respond to' request for comment.
