Varonis Systems (VRNS) has drawn the attention of Thoma Bravo-backed Proofpoint as a potential acquisition target, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Proofpoint is in talks to acquire the cybersecurity company, and a deal could be announced in the coming weeks, although no final decision has been made so far.

Varonis Systems and Proofpoint did not immediately respond to' request for comment.

Shares of Varonis Systems rose nearly 10% in late afternoon trading.
