Russia is expected to secure a cargo of fuel via sea this month as it faces an ongoing gasoline shortage due to aggressive strikes on its energy infrastructure by Ukraine, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing four industry sources.
A cargo of gasoline shipped from Asia is expected to reach one of Russia's western ports this month, the report said.
The country has banned gasoline exports by fuel producers until the end of next month to ensure ample domestic supply during summer, when demand for driving is high, the report said. An otherwise major exporter of oil and refined products, Russia had exported almost 5 million metric tons, or around 117,000 barrels per day, of gasoline last year.
