Oversea-Chinese Banking (SGX:O39) teamed up with China's state-owned ZGC International to pursue banking business from high-growth Chinese technology companies expanding into Southeast Asia, The Business Times reported Monday.
The partnership gives OCBC access to ZGC International's network of more than 14,000 technology companies located in innovation parks across major Chinese cities. The collaboration will focus on companies in artificial intelligence, life sciences, software services and advanced manufacturing, according to the report.
OCBC aims to provide these firms with banking services, market access and business networks as they expand into ASEAN, The Business Times said.
The newspaper added that the bank helped 50% more Chinese companies establish an ASEAN presence in 2025 compared with a year earlier, and that the partners plan to hold regular business matching events, technology park visits and overseas business delegations.
