North American Blue Energy Partners will assume management of Venezuelan oilfields formerly operated by a Russian firm and multiple Chinese entities, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing two US officials.
The asset transfer is part of a petroleum production deal that US President Donald Trump announced with Venezuela, the news outlet quoted the officials as saying.
The operations were among 14 new agreements awarded to the US-backed company, which transitioned from US oil tycoon Harry Sargeant to Venezuelan businessman Alejandro Betancourt, Reuters reported.
North American Blue Energy Partners did not immediately respond to' request for comment.
