Moderna's (MRNA) influenza vaccine for adults 50 and older received a recommendation for approval from outside advisers to the US Food and Drug Administration, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing a unanimous vote by the agency's Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee.
The recommendation for the mRNA-based shot is nonbinding, though the FDA typically follows its advisory panels, the report said.
Moderna did not immediately respond to' request for comment.
