Microsoft (MSFT) and Amazon.com's (AMZN) Amazon Web Services are expected to receive preliminary findings from the European Commission as early as next week in a review examining whether the cloud platforms should be subject to the European Union's Digital Markets Act, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The Commission's initial assessment is expected to indicate that the two cloud-computing businesses may fall within the scope of the EU's digital competition framework, the report said.
The European Commission and Microsoft declined to comment, while Amazon Web Services did not immediately respond to' request for comment.
