Market Chatter: Jinko to Build Power Source for 24.5 Billion Yuan Data Center

Jinko Solar (SHA:688223) agreed to supply power to a Chinese local government's 24.5 billion yuan data center in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Nikkei Asia reported Thursday.

The solar manufacturer signed a deal with Zhongwei's authorities to operate power plants installed with its solar panels for the data center, according to the media outlet.

The data center, which will have a capacity of 1 gigawatt, is expected to start construction this year and be completed in 2028, the report said.

Jinko is yet to respond to' request for comment.

Samudera Shipping Line to Dispose of Chemical Tankers for $23 Million

Samudera Shipping Line (SGX:S56) will dispose of two Singapore-flagged chemical tankers, MT Sinar Malahayati and MT Sinar Mendawai, to a third-party buyer for nearly $23 million, according to a Wednesday filing with the Singapore Exchange.Sinar Malahayati has a 12,105 gross tonnage, while Sinar Mendawai has a 11,950 gross tonnage.Proceeds raised from the disposal will be used for loan repayment, general working capital and for fleet renewal and other investment opportunities.Additionally, since both vessels are employed on existing time charters, a charter party novation agreement is also expected to be signed between the buyer, seller and the charterer before or upon delivery.

Mitsui OSK Lines Commits $300 Million to Delfin Offshore LNG Project

Mitsui OSK Lines (TYO:9104) is investing $300 million, equivalent to about 23% of the $1.4 billion total equity contribution, after making a final investment decision to participate in the Delfin FLNG 1 offshore liquefied natural gas project.The US-based facility aims to produce 4.4 million tons of LNG annually and is expected to start production in 2030, according to a statement on Thursday.The project has secured all necessary permits and long-term LNG offtake agreements with Vitol, Gunvor, Centrica, and Expand Energy.With the final investment decision in place, Delfin FLNG 1 will move into the execution phase and sign a construction contract with Samsung Heavy Industries (KRX:010140).In addition to its equity investment, Mitsui OSK Lines will provide technical expertise drawn from its floating storage and regasification unit operations, as well as experience in ship-to-ship LNG transfers.
