Healthscope's lenders are considering a proposal by a consortium lead by healthcare operator Calvary to acquire the private hospital operator, with the offer said to have been increased by at least AU$40 million, The Australian reported Thursday.
Healthscope's landlords include HMC Capital (ASX:HMC) and NorthWest Healthcare Properties REIT, and they have met representatives of the receiver McGrathNicol, which received a final offer from the consortium.
Under a competing proposal, Healthscope would remain under the ownership of its lenders and be turned into a not-for-profit organization.
