Germany is mulling the limited release of the country's national oil reserves beyond the current Aug. 31 deadline, Reuters reported Thursday, citing a spokesperson.
Berlin lowered reserve requirements in March as part of a coordinated International Energy Agency response to disruptions linked to the war in Iran.
Officials continue discussions on a possible extension, according to the report. Germany's Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy did not immediately reply to' request for comment.
