Devon Energy (DVN) is exploring the sale of its Eagle Ford and Powder River shale assets, aiming to fetch more than $4 billion, as part of its bid to streamline rest of its portfolio, according to a Bloomberg report, citing people familiar with the matter.
The company is planning to announce a strategic review of its assets located in South Texas and Wyoming during its earnings call in early August, according to one of the people familiar with the matter, who noted that no final decision was taken on the matter just yet.
This comes amid the growing push by the company's investors to focus on its core assets in the Permian Basin, following its $58 billion merger with Coterra Energy.
Devon Energy did not immediately respond to' request for a comment on this story.
