Several key Chinese smartphone manufacturers, including Xiaomi (HKG:1810), Oppo, Vivo, and Honor, plan to slash their shipment targets in 2026, amid component shortages and higher costs, Nikkei Asia reported Tuesday, citing multiple sources.
Xiaomi lowered its smartphone shipment target for this year by 30% to about 95 million units from an earlier forecast of 135 million. Oppo and Vivo also slashed their shipment targets to below 90 million units, while Honor warned suppliers it may be difficult to maintain its growth momentum in 2026 after shipping a record 71 million smartphones last year, the report said.
Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo did not immediately respond to' request for comment.
Shares of Xiaomi fell more than 1% in recent trade.
