Brookfield Infrastructure (BIP) has begun seeking buyer interest for NorthRiver Midstream, with the Canadian pipeline operator potentially valued at about CA$7 billion ($4.99 billion), Reuters reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.
Brookfield has asked bankers to contact potential buyers for NorthRiver, according to the report, as strong demand for energy infrastructure assets continues to lift valuations, though it could still decide to retain the business.
Chief executive Sam Pollock said during Brookfield's April 29 earnings call that the company was evaluating whether to expand NorthRiver further or capitalize on favorable market conditions for midstream assets, the report said.
Brookfield Infrastructure and NorthRiver Midstream did not immediately reply to' request for comment.
