Market Chatter: Bank Indonesia Vows Continued Support for Rupiah After Fresh Record Low

By

Indonesia's central bank said it will continue to take steps to support to rupiah as the local currency dropped to an all-time low on Wednesday, Reuters reported the same day, citing spokesperson Ramdan Prakoso.

USD/IDR reached 18,037 earlier in the day but was trading at 17,966.5 as of 3:59 a.m. ET, according to Bloomberg data.

The central bank will pull all levers at its disposal to maintain stability in the foreign exchange market amid ongoing global uncertainties, the report quoted Prakoso as saying.
