AstraZeneca (AZN) won a lawsuit filed in 2021 by Pfizer (PFE) after a US appeals court upheld a ruling in favor of the drugmaker over allegations that its lung-cancer drug Tagrisso infringed patents, Reuters reported Thursday.
The Washington-based US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit agreed with a Delaware federal judge that the two patents at the center of the dispute, owned by Pfizer's subsidiary Wyeth, were invalid.
AstraZeneca and Pfizer did not immediately respond to' request for comment.
AstraZeneca shares were down more than 5% in recent afternoon trading.
