Market Chatter: Aramco Offers Asian Buyers More Spot Crude via Ship-to-Ship Transfer

Saudi Aramco has offered Asian refiners more spot crude cargoes loading via ship-to-ship transfers or on a delivered basis for the months of September, October, and November, having sold around 56 million barrels since the outage of the East-West pipeline, Argus Media reported Tuesday, citing sources.

The company could offer 20 mmbbls of crude oil in total from within the Middle East Gulf, while the specific grades remain unclear, some of the sources told the news agency.

In a rare move, Aramco has scaled up its spot sales this year after the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz limited customers' access to their term volumes, the report said. The company had typically sold crude on a term basis before the onset of the US-Iran war.
