Malaysian Shares Maintain Three-Day Winning Streak on Week's Close

Malaysian shares ended in the green on Friday, extending gains of the previous two sessions. The index mirrored an upbeat regional trend on the week's close.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI, the main gauge of Malaysian stocks, gained 4.50 points to end 0.3% higher at 1,724.90.

In corporate news, shares of ITMAX System (KLSE:ITMAX) gained over 2% on Friday's close after it secured a deal worth 120 million ringgit from Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur for the supply, installation and maintenance of a smart street lighting system.

Greenyield's (KLSE:GREENYB) rubber production totaled 281,883.7 kilograms in June. Shares ended flat on today's close.

Protasco (KLSE:PRTASCO) said the hearing of stay applications and creditor's petition against Tey Por Yee and Ooi Kock Aun, has been rescheduled by the court to Aug. 18. Two judgment debtors had filed applications in Shah Alam High Court to stay bankruptcy proceedings.

Fitch Affirms Sinochem at A, Stable Outlook

Fitch Ratings affirmed Sinochem International's (SHA:600500) long-term foreign-currency issuer default rating and senior unsecured rating at A-, with a stable outlook, the ratings firm said Thursday.The new ratings reflected the state-owned firm's parent, Sinochem Holdings Corporation, which was rated with "Low" legal, "Medium" strategic, and "High" operational incentives to support Sinochem.The ratings firm decided to withdraw the ratings due to commercial reasons.

Cinda Securities H1 Profit Up 7%, Revenue Rises 20%

Cinda Securities (SHA:601059) posted first-half attributable net profit of 1.10 billion yuan, up 7.2% from 1.02 billion yuan the previous year.Earnings per share were unchanged at 0.30 yuan, according to a filing with the Shanghai bourseOperating revenue climbed 20% year over year to 2.44 billion yuan from 2.04 billion yuan.Shares of the brokerage were down 1% in recent trade.
