Malaysia's vehicle sales rose 5% annually to 73,615 units in July, from 70,057, driven by higher passenger vehicle sales, according to data from the Malaysian Automotive Association released Tuesday.
Passenger vehicle sales increased 7% from a year earlier to 68,900 units, while commercial vehicle sales fell 16% to 4,715 units, the data showed.
Vehicle production also increased 5% year-on-year to 75,490 units in July from 71,739 units.
For the first seven months of 2026, total industry sales rose 3% year-on-year to 458,968 units from 443,777 units, the data showed.
