Malaysia's coincident index, which measures current economic performance, slipped by 0.1% month-over-month in July to 131.5 points from 131.6 points in June, according to the Department of Statistics Malaysia on Friday.
On an annual basis, the index grew 1.7%.
The slowdown in economic momentum on a month-on-month basis was driven by a 0.2% decline in both the Real Contribution, EPF, and capacity utilization in manufacturing.
