Lode Gold Resources (LOD.V) repaid the long-term senior debt of $3.6 million (including interest) that was secured against the Fremont Gold Mine property in California, the company said on Wednesday.
Lode Gold and its subsidiaries will no longer have any loan obligations, the company said in a news release.
Fremont Gold Mining was acquired in 2021 by Lode Gold, which assumed the company's secured debts. The Fremont Gold Project is a past-producing, high-grade underground gold mine.
The loan, which had recently been extended to May 1, 2028, included a provision for 50% of the 2% extension fee to be refunded if the loan was repaid by May 1, 2027. Lode Gold noted that it has qualified for the rebate.
Lode Gold shares were last seen up C$0.025 at C$0.395, on the TSX Venture Exchange.
