Keel Infrastructure (KEEL.TO) secured approval from the City of Sherbrooke in Quebec to consolidate 96 megawatts of existing capacity for its data center project.
Keel said it's transferring the power from three bitcoin mining sites and it didn't request additional power. It also received approval to acquire a parcel of land where it will develop the data center, the digital infrastructure and energy company said Wednesday.
Quebec's Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Energy is reviewing the transfer of energy capacity to the new site, according to Keel.
