K2 Gold (KTO.V) shares were last seen up 5.7% after the company on Thursday said it launched a an initial 5,650-meter drilling program at its Mojave project in California.
The company said initial drilling is focused on the Dragonfly Zone, where the company previously intersected 86.9 meters (m) grading 4.0 grams per tonne (g/t) gold (Au) from surface, including 24.4m grading 10.9 g/t Au. Subsequent drilling will test the Newmont Zone, it said.
K2 said it has also started a program of geological mapping, focused rock sampling, and target re-interpretation for high-priority exploration targets including the Flores, Gold Valley, and Stega targets.
K2 shares were last seen up C$0.04 to C$0.74 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
