The US international trade deficit narrowed to $73.26 billion in June from a $77.65 billion gap in May, a slightly large deficit than the expectations for a $73.0 billion gap in a survey compiled by Bloomberg as of 7:30 am ET.
Imports fell more than exports, narrowing the deficit.
Imports of capital goods, consumer goods, auto supplies, industrial supplies and food and beverages all decreased in the month.
Exports of industrial supplies, capital goods and food and beverages all decreased in June, while exports of auto supplies and consumer goods both increased.
