Japanese investors sold a total of 184.8 billion yen in bonds in the week ended May 30, after purchasing 12.9 billion yen in bonds in the week ended May 23, Japan's Ministry of Finance said Thursday.
The shift indicated the first net weekly outflow for foreign bond investments in May after four straight weeks of net purchases.
Singaporean companies in May continued to expand, though the pace of growth eased from April, S&P Global said Thursday.The latest S&P Global Singapore Purchasing Manager's Index, which measures the health of the private sector economy, came in at 56.7, compared with 57.9 in the previous month.The reading matched March's level and marked the joint-weakest improvement in business conditions so far this year, although it remained firmly in expansion territory.
South Korea's official foreign reserve assets stood at $427.0 billion at the end of May, compared with $427.9 billion in the previous month, according to Bank of Korea data published Thursday.The amount consists of $380.7 billion in securities, $21.4 billion in deposits, $4.4 billion in International Monetary Fund reserve position, $15.8 billion in special drawing rights, and $4.8 billion in gold.
