Japan's tertiary industry activity index slipped 0.2% in March, an improvement from the 0.4% contraction in February, reported the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) on Tuesday.
On an annual basis, the index climbed 2.6%.
The seasonally adjusted March index for broad-range personal services slid 0.7% in March from February, but was up 1.5% on year.
The seasonally adjusted broad-range business services index gained 0.4% in March from the month prior, and rose 3.3% on year.
