Japan's economy expanded at an annualized rate of 1.4% in the second quarter, according to final data from the Cabinet Office on Tuesday.
While moderating from the revised 1.8% growth recorded in the first quarter, the reading came in stronger than both the preliminary estimate of 1.1% and the market consensus forecast of 1.1% tracked by Investing.com.
The upward revision was driven by a milder contraction in capital expenditure, which edged down 0.9% compared with the preliminary estimate of a 1.2% decline.
