Japan's core consumer price index (CPI), which excludes volatile fresh food prices, rose 1.8% year over year in July, according to data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications released on Friday.
The reading was up from the 1.6% expansion recorded in the previous month and marked the highest print since January
The latest print was in line with the consensus market forecast tracked by Investing.com.
Meanwhile, headline inflation accelerated to a seven-month high of 1.9% from 1.5% the previous month.
