Consumer confidence in Japan improved in July, with the index measuring sentiment rising to 34.9 from 33.8 in June, according to data from the Cabinet Office on Thursday.
The latest reading beat the Investing.com forecast of 34.2.
The improvement was driven by stronger sentiment across all four components of the consumer perception index.
Sentiment on overall livelihood rose 1.1 points to 33.1, income growth increased 0.6 points to 40.9, employment prospects climbed 1.7 points to 40.1, and willingness to buy durable goods advanced 1 point to 25.6.
