Italian Monthly Retail Sales Up 0.8% in March

-- Italy's seasonally adjusted retail sales ticked up 0.8% in March, after a revised 0.1% decrease in February, according to data from statistics agency Istat published Wednesday.

Analysts expected a 0.4% drop for the month.

On a yearly basis, retail sales were 3.7% higher, against the 1.6% rise earlier.
