Italy's annual inflation rate edged down to 3% in June from 3.2% in May, provisional data from statistics agency Istat showed Tuesday.
The consensus estimate for the month was 3.1%.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices showed zero growth, compared with the market forecast of a 0.2% rise and the prior 0.4% decline.
The Italian harmonized inflation rate stood at 3.1% on an annual basis, in line with expectations, against the previous reading of 3.2%. Month over month, harmonized consumer prices were 0.1% higher, against the prior 0.3% gain.
