Services activity in India expanded in September, with the final HSBC India Services Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) growing to 55.8 from the revised 54.1 reading the previous month, according to data compiled by S&P Global and released on Wednesday.
The latest print marked the strongest expansion since June. A reading above 50 indicates expansion in the sector, while a figure below signals a contraction.
The latest performance was driven primarily by stronger demand for properties, transport services, and new travel bookings due to marketing efforts.
