India's total exports of goods and services increased 15.8% year over year to an estimated $82 billion in May, according to data released by the Commerce Ministry on Monday.
Of the total, merchandise exports rose to $45.2 billion in May from $38.3 billion a year earlier, while merchandise imports increased to $73.4 billion from $60.9 billion.
Total imports rose 19.2% to an estimated $92.5 billion, resulting in a trade deficit of $10.5 billion, compared with $6.8 billion a year earlier.
