India has raised export duties on diesel and aviation turbine fuel while cutting the levy on petrol, public broadcaster Akashvani reported on Thursday, citing a Finance Ministry notification.
The government increased the export duty on diesel to 15.5 Indian rupees per litre from 8.5 rupees per litre and on aviation turbine fuel to 14.5 rupees per litre from 7.5 rupees per litre.
The export duty on petrol was reduced to 2.5 rupees per litre from 4 rupees per litre.
The revised rates took effect on Thursday. There was no change to excise duties on petrol and diesel sold in the domestic market.
