Imperial Metals (III.TO) reported second-quarter production of 3.4 million pounds of copper and 6,848 ounces of gold from the Mount Polley Mine, down from 9.5 million pounds of copper and 11,061 ounces of gold in the year-ago quarter.
The company milled 1.7 million tonnes of ore in the second quarter, down from 1.8 million tonnes in the prior-year period, according to a Tuesday news release.
In addition, Imperial has received permits to construct the Mount Polley tailings dam following the British Columbia Environmental Assessment Office's recommendation for approval. The permitted facility will provide storage of tailings through 2034.
