Pessimism eased in the German export industry in June amid strong international competition and skepticism over a sustainable decline in geopolitical uncertainty, the ifo Institute said Thursday.
The ifo export expectations improved to -3.7 points in June, from -5.7 points in May, led by rising optimism in the electronics industry, beverage manufacturers, the pharmaceutical industry, and makers of glass and ceramics.
On the contrary, the food, chemical, and automotive and metal industries continue to expect a decline in international sales.
