ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Unaware of Report on Promoter's Stake Plans

ICICI Prudential Life Insurance (NSE:ICICIPRULI, BOM:540133) said it is unaware of any developments related to a media report claiming that co-promoter Prudential Plc intends to retain its stake in the insurer.

Shares of the insurer fell over 1% in Friday's trade.

The company was responding to a report that said U.K.-based co-promoter Prudential Plc. was considering seeking IRDAI approval to be reclassified as a strategic investor, rather than a promoter, to retain its 21.9% stake in ICICI Prudential Life.

In a stock exchange filing on Thursday, ICICI Prudential said it had no information regarding the reported plans.
